Finding things in Settings

What each Settings tab is for, how to open a tab or section straight from a link, and where to run setup again or change analytics cookies.

Updated

Settings groups your account, gameplay and streaming tools, followed by Preferences and Help. Each tab has one job. Form edits stay in draft until you press Save; browser choices such as analytics cookies say when they take effect immediately.

What each tab is for

Find a setting

Use Find a setting above the tabs, or press / while you are not typing in another field. The page's visible search field takes priority, so / focuses Find a setting while you are in Settings. Search field names such as TTS volume, Kick chatroom, Pulse ID, Delete account, Overlay theme or Reset overlay URLs. Use Up and Down to choose a result, Enter to open it and Escape to close the results. Searching only uses setting labels; it does not read the contents of your account or open inactive tools.

A result opens the right tab and briefly outlines its section. It only takes you to the setting: searching for Delete account or Reset overlay URLs does not run that action. If you have unsaved changes in another tab, the same Stay or Discard choice appears before you leave. Browser import tools appear only when enabled for your account; search for Replay import to reach the always-available import settings.

For pages, Help, guides and setting labels together, use the header's Search button, More → Search on a phone, or Ctrl K / ⌘ K outside an editing field. Settings results use the same tab and section navigation, including its Stay or Discard choice for unsaved edits. See Search and keyboard shortcuts for the full key reference.

Open a tab from a link

  • Add ?tab= and the tab's name to the Settings address to open that tab, for example /settings?tab=overlay. The names are account, profile, backups, checkin, randomizer, import, overlay, chat, voice, preferences and help.
  • Add # and a section name to jump to one section of the tab. /settings?tab=chat#platform-connections opens Connected accounts in Chat & alerts. Older Overlay chat and Dock links open their moved destination before loading streaming controls. The section is outlined for a moment so you can spot it.
  • Older foundation and misc links still open Account and Preferences. The streaming alias still opens Overlay. Older hash-only tab links continue to work too.
  • Picking a tab updates the address, so a copied link or a refresh brings you back to the same tab.
  • Use Up and Down to move through desktop sidebar tabs, including between groups. On a phone use Left and Right in the scrolling tab row. Home and End reach the first and last tabs. Devices is a separate link, reached with Tab.

Unsaved changes

Tabs with at least three available sections have one On this page navigator: a rail beside the form on a desktop and a section dropdown on a phone. Account, Profile, Backups & data, Preferences and Randomizer include their actual sections. Import adds its navigator when its browser tools are available. Overlay and Chat & alerts keep their shared navigator. Scrolling updates the highlighted section without moving you or changing the address; choosing a section jumps to it and briefly outlines it. Tokens points to the shared controls above the streaming form inside its active panel. Older Overlay Look links reach Theme, and older Ghost links reach Ghost Build coach. Moving between sections of the same tab keeps your draft. If a conditional section disappears, the current address stays intact and the navigator highlights an available section.

A dot next to a tab's name means it has edits you haven't saved. Switch tabs with unsaved edits and Settings asks first: Stay on this tab keeps them, Discard & switch drops them. The sidebar's Devices link also asks before leaving a draft behind: choose Discard & open Devices to leave. Opening Devices in a new tab keeps your current Settings draft. Chat & alerts tracks the multi-platform chat and bot forms independently, so saving one does not clear the other's draft. Overlay tracks its profile draft; Preferences includes notification choices and the start page. Commands and Twitch automation keep their own save controls and are not included in this tab-level draft guard.

Overlay and Chat & alerts use one streaming-token manager while either tab is open. Save or discard the guarded drafts before selecting, minting, rotating or revoking a token; renaming its label keeps those drafts. Account only checks setup health and never creates a token. If a creation response is lost, choose Check token status first. An empty status cannot prove the earlier creation failed, so another token requires the explicit Create action.

Start page, setup and analytics (Preferences)

  • Default tab picks where the dashboard opens. It only applies when you first open the dashboard in a browser session. Today (default) opens on Today; choose a section such as Opponents or Maps to land there instead. Clicking Today after that always shows Today.
  • Run setup again reopens the setup guide: download the desktop app, pair it and import your replays. Your games and settings stay as they are.
  • Show the setup checklist again restores a hidden checklist on your dashboard, keeping your other setup preferences. Dismissing it on the dashboard offers Undo for five seconds.
  • Analytics cookies shows whether Google Analytics is on in this browser. Press Turn on or Turn off to change it; it takes effect right away. The choice only applies to the browser you're using, the same as the cookie banner.
